In-Laws...

Have you ever heard of husband-wife fights because of in-laws? Have you experienced being tortured by in-laws? Have you been acting "plastically" in front of your in-laws? Well, those are stories I hear from other friends or strangers who are now living or trying to live their lives with in-laws.

Fortunately for me, I don't have problems with my in-laws. I'm actually happy that they accepted me even with my bratinella personality. I'm really lucky to have found the love of my life that has a family like theirs. Since I really did not grow up being close to mom and dad, I really appreciate my mom-in-law's opinions and "pangaral". She's like my second mom nadin talaga. My husband's family is so close that sometimes I envy them. I really do adore my father-in-law because of his eagerness to do almost all stuff in the house like repairing or fixing and cleaning. Ika nga nila "laking pakinabang ni papa sa bahay". Andami niyang nagagawang mga bagay na malaking tulong sa family and sa house. "Two thumbs up to you papa!"

It's so amazing that even though I felt before like I'm all alone, God still gave me hope through my husband and his family. I can honestly tell you that I have an attitude that is unlikely. But it lessened when I met John... and now, I'm happy that once in a while, I talk to my mom-in-law regarding facts of life and the like where in she gives me advices or lectures that I would certainly treasure.

I am so thankful for my in-laws. Without them, I know, John won't be the John I loved. As I said earlier, I don't have problems with my in-laws, I just hope as well, that they don't have problems with me. :)

I love you both! Don't worry Ma, Pa.... I will also love your son with all my heart, until my last breath and forever...

Johann's Vaccines

Yesterday, February 16, 2011, John, Johann and I went to the Center in T.S. Cruz Las Pinas for Johann's vaccines. He had two vaccines, one for DTP 3 and the other one was for Poiliomyelitis 3. His next shot would be on his 9th month old.

By the way, before I continue with the story, I just want to tell you that,
we have decided to have Johann's vaccines in the Center and not in the Hospital or even Clinic.
First, it is much cheaper  because in the Center they only have few shots that are needed to be paid.
But almost all are for free.
It is just that you really have to be patient waiting in line.
So what we do is, we go there at around 11am so there would be lesser people already.
And as I said, when we went there yesterday,
hmmm.. probably after 15 minutes, it was already our turn.

Anyway, back to my story. When we were called, Johann was still trying to eat his hands. Haha! The volunteer there asked John to hold Johann carefully and put Johann's legs in between his tightly. The volunteer then did his work, first was a shot on his thigh/legs area and the second one was a medicine drop, I guess. The volunteer said that we should watch for Johann's temperature because he might have fever. I took shots of Johann's experience so here they are:

John trying to call papa for him to fetch us.

See? Johann still has his hand in his mouth.

Johann not knowing what's next. hihi.

While the volunteer gave Johann a shot.

Johann cried for about 10 seconds only or less.

With that very cute frowning face.

After a while Johann again placed his hand in his mouth. Kaloka ka anak.

Non-stop oh!

When we got home, I prepared the hot pack so that I'll be able to put it on Johann's shot. I also prepared his medicine and the thermometer to check his temperature once in a while. However, he did not get a fever. He was really well. Plus super likot. Hmm.. Lakas resistensya mo anak ha!

When mom got home, he immediately asked me if Johann's okay and if he has a fever. I said he was fine, still malikot and malaway. And he doesn't have a fever. Sabi naman ni mommy, "Wow, sa lahat ng kilala kong nagpa-vaccine, yan ang hindi nilagnat." She hurriedly washed her hands and went to Johann and played with him.

I thought, "Lahat ba talaga ng in-injectionan or nagpa-vaccine eh nilalagnat?" "Abnormal ba si Johann?" hehe. Joke lang. Baka sadyang malakas resistensya ni baby Johann ko. =)

Very Good baby. I Love You!

Johann trying to eat his foot/feet.

Haha! Few nights ago, mom took care of Johann, while I went to Southmall to buy some groceries. When I went home, mom told me that Johann was so funny because he keeps on removing his socks. He tries to reach his foot/feet then removes his socks. I was so unlucky that time to have not witnessed it myself.

Last night, while watching tv, I noticed Johann being busy. And guess what?, he is eating his foot/feet. Well not literally his foot/feet because he has his socks on. Good thing that the camera is just near me so I grabbed it immediately and captured that moment. Haha. It's so funny to see Johann in that position.

Cutie baby..

Not minding me taking pictures of him.

Reaches his feet.

Then continues mouthing it. haha!

But if you'll notice ha, Johann's lips are so red. Manang-mana kay papa nya.. hehe.. Love you baby. Happy Valentines day as well.

Christening last January 23, 2011 (super late post)

After jurassic years, I've already decided to blog again. Talk about "katamaran". Anyways, We've (John and I) been busy few weeks back before Johann's Christening. I've listed a lot in my checklist.

  • Invitation - Since this is what I specialize on (Graphic Design), I created the design for Johann's invitation. Maarte ako so I thought of a lot of "pakulo" to make his invitation unique, somehow. So I designed it this way and cut it that way:
Invitation in the shape of a diaper, to be cut on the lines.

This is the final output.

  • Envelope - My first plan was, to cut a white or blue thick tela (which I don't know its type or name) to be a cover on those invitations I made. But since it's so "matrabaho", I just decided to leave it that way. So this envelope plan was canceled.

  • Tarpaulin - As I said earlier, since this is my forte, I designed the tarp of Johann's Christening. We just had it printed on my cousin's work and it's for free.. wuhoo!
I'm glad that my husband, John, liked my design.

  • Cake - Original plan was to order cake from Baker's Fair since I love their lemon flavored cake (if I'm not mistaken). But we (John and I) were having difficulties on who to pick it up. Baker's Fair is actually in Metropolis Mall in Alabang and we live in BF Homes, Las Pinas. We were not sure whether someone would be free to pick it up. They can deliver but it's too pricey. It cost 700 for delivery only. So John and I decided to just order a cake from Goldilocks. Picture to be posted soon. Hehe.. Here's the pic of the cake.

  • Souvenir/Giveaway - I wanted the souvenirs to be personalized. I have a lot of ideas about it, like sets of lotion, cologne and sanitizer, or jar with chocolates, or tin cans with candles etc. John wanted us to cost cut a lot because we're in crisis mode. He said that we have a lot more to save on. Since he is a very religous person, I decided, it would be more appreciative and less expensive if we would just have a rosary to be a giveaway/souvenir. We went to divisoria to find cool stuff for a souvenir/giveaway. Some were too expensive or too common (which I don't like). So we ended up buying single stuff like small cork bottles, rosary bracelets and small bag (not sure if it's abaca or rattan or whatever, I'm so clueless. hehe) I am also aware that there would be a lot of kids joining us in our celebration so I just decided to add a small circular container with chocolates in it.
Small cork bottles with a rosary bracelet in it. All rosaries are blessed.

Bottles placed inside those (abaca or rattan or whatever) bags.

Small container with chocolates in it.

Just placed a sticker with the design I also made for Johann's Christening.

Souvenirs and

Giveaways.

  • Tables and Chairs - Well, John was the one assigned in this part. "honey, stressed na.. hehe"

  • Center Piece - I wanted to have a center piece para naman may dating, but John didn't agree with it. Magtipid daw ako.

  • Ninongs/Ninangs - We have a lot of pairs. All are close friends and relatives on John's and my side.

  • Food - My family in law was the one in charge of these. But in fairness, the food was oh so good! I personally like the beef with mushroom sauce.

  • Baby Registry - November last year when I signed up in Baby Company for Baby Registry. I listed all the things I wanted for Baby Johann and then I can just notify my friends to just drop by their store to know what I wanted for Johann's gifts. First 10 people would also get 10% discount. I loved the gifts by the way. :)

So far, everything went well on Johann's Christening day. A lot of friends came and I do want to thank them by the way for the effort in going and dropping by the church and house. It's just too hassle for some din kasi it was a Sunday ofcourse, plus noon time so medyo haggard ang iba. If we could only have Johann's Christening special, tipong afternoon gagawin, but we know that it is already tradition.

But anyways, I'm happy that we survived like in our wedding, my birth to Johann and now Johann's Christening. Next would be his 1st birthday. We still have time to save and plan about it. So no need to rush. :)

To Johann, I'm just so happy that you're already a Christian. We'll do our best to be a role model for you. We'll love you so much that you will be the most important thing in our lives aside from God ofcourse to be number One. We love you!

No updates!

Yeah, no updates since my last blog. I have been busy for quite awhile for Johann's Christening last January 23, 2011. And I am too lazy to post stuff. I'm trying to get everything back to it's rhythm so that I could catch up. Been very lazy. Hehe.

I just want to thank everyone by the way who attended my son's Christening. It's not that bongga though. But I am sure that the people enjoyed the food which my in-laws prepared. Thanks also for the gifts which Johann really liked. :)

I will try my best to catch up okay? :) Will update you later!
