McCormick Grill Nation Event

Sunday is Fam-Bam day. It is hubby's day off kasi so complete kami. Dapat jan, masarap ang lunch and dinner during Sundays.

Kapag sinipag si hubby he would sometimes grill bbq or porkchop. Kapag tinamad naman, dun kami kakain sa kanila, sa in-laws ko. Dun sila mag-ggrill ni FIL.

Since we really love food, it would be better if the food tastes good diba? So when it comes to grilling bbq, porkchop or anything, hindi na basta basta toyo, ketchup, asin at paminta ang pwede lang ilagay. We can spice up or give flavor to the bbq, porkchop or anything with McCormick Seasoning Mix. There are a lot of varieties. It all depends on what meat you'd grill.

Enjoy steaks the way Americans do with
McCormick Hickory Smoked Seasoning Mix
It gives that sweet, hickory-smoked, hot-off-the-grill flavor to beef, pork or chicken

The taste of New Orleans can now be enjoyed in your grilled beef, pork, chicken with
McCormick Cajun Seasoning Mix

to give your grilled meats a distinct southern flavor

The famous Korean dish Bulgogi, which means “fine beef” is now readily available
to savor with your grilled beef, pork and chicken with
McCormick Korean BBQ Seasoning Mix
It has the right mix of bulgogi marinade of soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic and
other spices to easily provide you an appetizing Korean meal

Spice up your grilled beef or pork with
McCormick Pepper Steak Seasoning Mix
Made with pepper and garlic bits,
it will surely give your grilled meats a flavor boost

“A la Pobre”, which means “of the poor”, is a funny name for a dish rich in taste and
flavor to add on your favorite grilled meat or beef, pork and chicken with
McCormick Steak a la Pobre Seasoning Mix

S&R Member's Treat (First Timer)

I had a very tiring day. First, I slept late last night. Hindi na nga night eh, Wednesday na ng madaling araw, around 4am. Woke up 7-ish am, took a bath and fixed myself. I waited for my sis-in-law and mother-in-law to pick me up. And they did, around 8:50 am.

We arrived at S&R Alabang around 9:10 am. Parking was full already.

Near parking entrance
MIL and I decided to fall in line na while waiting for SIL to park the car. As expected, we were late! Haha. S&R opened 8am. By that time, madami nadin talagang tao. Mom called me before I left home, she mentioned that people are already piling up when she passed by S&R.

Mom: Kanina diba umalis ako mga 5:30am, andami nang tao dun.
Me: Oh? gaano kadami?
Mom: Madami talaga! Grabe pala talaga mag-sale dun ano? Grabe talaga!
Me: Hehe, kaya nga eh. Alis dapat kami before 8am kaso wala pa sina ate.

Yes! Mom was amazed on those people who fell in line as early as 5am.
We were at the end of the line.
Did you see the photo above? Grabe no! I am amazed myself. Madami talagang nagti-tiyaga pumila for S&R's Member's Treat Sale. Sorry, I really just can't help myself to be OA sa pagpopost once in a while ng sale sa S&R and items I bought since yesterday, it is my first time kasi talaga to go to their sale. It was a tiring but fun experience!
Me (left), Ate Jack (middle), and MIL (right)
We arrived there 9am diba? We actually entered S&R around 12nn na. We fell and waited in line for 3 hours.

MIL: Ang ti-tiyaga ng mga taong napila dito noh?
Me: Oo naman ma, sale yan eh! Shopping din yan!

I was surprised though, that there were no stampede inside! Haha. Well, I was really expecting that the inside will be packed with people. Balyahan sa sikip ang ineexpect ko. Hindi pala. I realized na, there are a lot of people lang talaga outside, waiting for their turn to enter the premises plus waiting for push carts din. Per member kasi is only allowed to have 2 push carts. Since ayaw din magkagulo gulo siguro sa loob, other people should wait for push carts to be available. Kaya pinapipila ng maayos sa labas.

However, just few minutes before we have actually entered, they (S&R Management) announced something. They said, they will allow people, who don't really need push carts, to enter ahead of those who are in line na need ang push carts. However, they still need to follow their line. They can over take those peeps na need ang push carts, pero in line padin. Well, yung iba, naguluhan sa announcement na ito. They thought, pwede sila umalis sa line nila then pumila dun sa isa pang entrance at dun pumila.

Other customers were losing their patience already. They were telling the management that it is unfair to let those people go ahead. Ikaw daw ba, pipila ka ng mahaba, tapos sale, tapos ang bibilhin mo hand full of items only? They were sure na hindi. Even the foreigner behind us told the management din na, if they let those people go ahead of others, they will just take advantage and use other things as baskets, or try to check for push carts that are empty.

I was not really surprised. Kahit ako, naisip ko yun. Pwede naman gumawa ng paraan yung mga taong nauna, na hindi daw need ng push cart, na kuha nalang ng basket of some sort then yun ang gawin lalagyan ng mga bibilhin nila. And yes, totoo nga. We saw those people na nauna sa amin pulling a rubber bayong shaped trolly. They placed the things they're going to buy inside that rubber bayong shaped trolly na binebenta din ng S&R. Pero in the end, pag dating sa counter, hindi pala nila babayaran yung trolly. They just took advantage of the situation para makalamang sa mga nagpagod pumila. S&R Management was wrong to make that awful announcement.

Anyway... Going back to light kwento. I took a pic of S&R inside.

Madaming tao pero hindi sooo many. Hindi pa stampede. lol.
Hmm... we finished shopping around 3pm. Sulit naman. I didn't get to take photos of what my in-laws bought. Pero madami din silang binili na B1T1 and naka-sale.

Eh diba, I said nga on my previous post, I already went shopping yesterday, so konti nalang binili ko kanina. Too bad, some of the items I bought yesterday were on sale na kanina. Tipong P100 - P200 off. Sayang din yun. Oh wellz...

L to R: Zip All Purpose Cleaner, Lysol Toilet Cleaner ata yun (B1T1), Pampers, Colgate (4 boxes),
Ivory Bath Soap, Suave Bath Soap (B1T1), Heinz Ketchup, Hand Soap (B1T1) and Tortilla Chips.
Chocolate overload.
I decided to put the items in storage already. So the storage cabinet now looks like this. Hindi pa nagkasya yung iba. Nakatiwang-wang pa yung iba sa labas.

Hoarding? Hehe.
Lesson Learned Today:
1. During Early Bird Sale, buy only items that are ON SALE or B1T1. (You can always go back on the sale day itself to check if the items you want to buy have marked down. In my case diba, I bought few items nung Early Bird Sale palang na hindi pa on sale talaga, it turned out, mag-mamark down cya sa mismong sale. Ayon, nanghinayang ako ng kaunti kanina.)

2. Wake up early on the first day sale. It is to avoid the scorching heat of the sun and the heat of siksikan. Well. Not really siksikan pero close to that nadin. The early bird gets the best new items. If you're late kasi, it's either, lamog na yung bagay or bugbog na kakadampot, or ubos na.

3. As much as possible, bring water, fan, gadgets like phone or ipad or the like, chi-cha or food and folding chair. Pag pumila ka, uuhawin ka kakatayo. Maiinitan ka kasi the longer you're in line, the hotter it will be kasi tumatanghali or humahapon na. You'd probably get bored so gadgets will help you. Antagal mo sa pila, gugutumin ka at mapapagod ka din talaga kakatayo kaya mas okay if you bring folding chairs.

4. Don't bring with you mainiping company. Don't bring your kids, as much as possible. They'll get bored, tired and cranky. Believe me! We waited in line outside for 3 hours. Elderly and kids won't stay that long. Kawawa din kasi.

5. Bring a car! If it is sale and you're planning to buy a lot, please bring your car, your neighbor's jeep, or any transpo. Surely you'll need it. Not necessary though, pero most of the people I saw kanina, would need a transpo and not really commute.

6. As much as possible, if you're a hoarder of home products, food, etc., buy stuff that would last until September-ish kasi by Sept, may sale ulit sa S&R. Hehe. :)

I am really tired. Didn't get to sleep kaninang hapon paguwi kasi naglilikot si Johann. Plus now I am blogging. I just can't contain it that I needed to blog it agad-agad. Hehe.

BTW, S&R is still on Sale up to March 17. Hurry now! There are a lot of items na ang bilis naubos! Hoarding na!! Hehe. :)

Nytie!

Melancholic Night

I feel a little gloomy tonight. :(

You know the feeling of wanting to do something but you just can't? I am feeling that at the moment and I have been feeling that since last year. May be, before Christmas pa.

Okay, to get it straight, my camera is broken. My Nikon D5100. Fell off the car by accident, while John's getting off too. Sabay silang bumaba ng sasakyan! We argued with the issue but it was already settled. Okay naman kami. Hehe. However, I feel so depressed. I was not able to take photos of us last Christmas.. Even New Year.. and the recent occassion, which was the Christening of hubby's nephew.

I miss my camera! :(

I checked where we can have it fixed. The only place authorized to do so (I think...) is the Columbia Digital in Megamall. Diagnostic fee is P5,000. If they need to change a part inside, another payment pa. We really can't prioritize that now because we still have a lot of things to buy/pay/save for pa. Huhu.

This is one of those times where in it pushes me to work na for an extra income. As you all know, I am a full time mommy and wife. We don't really have that much money to make it (the repairing of camera) on top of the list.

As John said to me, smile na daw ako, in time we'll have it fixed din. I was agitated a bit with the word "in time???"... parang ang tagal ng "in time" eh.. When John noticed that "troubled-look" of mine, he clarified that we'll have it fixed in the first half of this year. :)

Petix muna ang bunsong baby ko.

Do you know any place/store that is authorized to repair this kind of camera, Nikon D5100? Thanks in advance!

Right Brained Person

Hello everyone!

How was your weekend? If you'd ask me, it went well. Saturday midnight, well, technically, Sunday na pala yun. Sunday nang madaling-araw, I helped my brother-in-law's wife (bilas) with decorating the balloons. Mind you, I am expert with that. Haha! Not really expert pala, I know quite a few tricks in decorating balloons in parties!

So yeah, went to their house to organize and decorate the balloons. It was the Christening of my husband's nephew kasi. Honestly, I was not able to take photos of the event 'coz my camera is broken. In the process of having it fixed. So I am still waiting for them to upload the pics.

Anyhoo.. since I already mentioned about decorating balloons, I want to share to you some of the pics taken from 2 of the events happened last year.

Christening: Balloon Pacifier and Balloon Cloud

Christening Event

Christening: Balloon Arc

Christening: Balloon Pillars (small)

Christening: Experimenting Balloon Designs

1st Birthday: Swags, Balloonderitas, Balloon Arc

1st Birthday: Balloon Arc

1st Birthday: Don't you just love those balloons? It makes
the area better for a party.

1st Birthday: Concept by me.

I am grateful of the talent I have. (Sabay, about me pala yung post ano? hehe.) I can be very creative in a lot of ways. I get excited everytime they ask me to help them in planning or decorating these for parties. God gave me this kind of talent and creativity, might as well share to others. These, by the way, were made/done for free. But if you want me to help you with decorating, it may come with a price ofcourse, but cheaper cyempre. :)

Aside from that pala, I am not only creative in decorating/planning designs for parties, I also apply my (being a right-brained-person) with editing and designing invites, souvenir stickers/cards etc.

I still have a few more in my external hard drive. I usually lend my help by editing/designing these (above) for them to use in the party itself. Plus, hindi yan bara-bara. I put my heart and mind into it ha! I want it to look nice din kasi. And if I'm not mistaken, my reputation is also at stake here. They know kasi that maganda ako gumawa ng mga ganito. Hihi. Unlike sa ibang nagpepersonalize, mejo template na kadalasan ang meron sila. Right?

Atleast though, I can say, I am still good at some things aside from being a mother and wife to Johann and John. :) These things also help and save me from the boredomness at home sometimes. Hihi.

If you want my help/services feel free to email me, message me or leave a comment. :)

Some backgrounds, designs, wallpapers used in making print outs above were from the internet websites which I was not able to recall/note. Credits to those who made those. But layout/design/edit are purely mine. :)

Finally!

I.have.been.suffering.from.a.molar.pain! Really! Years nadin ito, maybe two years. The pain actually comes and goes. Before, it was tolerable and I can just drink mefenamic acid for a few days and it's gone.

But last Thursday, it started to give me real pain as in mega pain. It was killing me! 1000mg of mefenamic acid is kind of OA na, but I had to drink that much because it was really painful.

Saturday and Sunday, I started asking for opinion from 2 friends. One was my close Kulasa friend, Iris, of Three Hand Star, and the other was Dominique, a dentistry student friend.

Iris and I had a conversation regarding how painful it was etc. It was a typical kwentuhan lang talaga when she mentioned her dentist. I was having second thoughts on him because he doesn't have a clinic here in south. He has a clinic in Manila though. I know he is good. Magaan din ang kamay. We would usually look for a dentist na magaan ang kamay, right? I know this for a fact because he was my dentist too. Not really officially but since I had him clean my teeth before a couple of times din, I consider him as my dentist. :)

I asked my partner in crime, Iris, to text Doc Glenn and ask for some info regarding my condition. She agreed.

The following day, I messaged Dominique, to ask some questions and shared to her what pain I'm going through with my tooth. With the series of question and answer, she concluded that the tooth is impacted. Well, I had a feeling too.. (goodness of researching in google). She recommended a dentist that has a clinic in Manila. Only to find out, it was the same dentist. After talking to her, I finally came to a decision that I will have my tooth extracted by Doc Glenn. Que se hodang Manila, gora padin! Full support pa! John and Johann went there with me. Hihi.

Had an appointment with him last Tuesday. Agad agad, the extraction was done in 30 - 40 minutes. Or maybe less. I requested it to be removed agad because I really can not take the pain anymore. He approved naman eh. Good thing, the tooth did not give him nor me a hard time.

Though, that night, while the anesthesia was wearing off, I had so much pain. I was crying like a baby. Di ko kinaya mga teh! Tagos hanggang buto.. hanggang ulo.. lahat na!! I had to double again the mg of the pain reliever plus more meds! hahaha. Overdose!

Now, it's not that painful anymore. Still has little pain but tolerable. I'll go back on Saturday to have my stitches removed. Will there be pain again? Hope not!

I am a happy person again! Haha. Having that kind of pain made me crazy as a B would be!

What I need to do now is to make ipon naman to have my lower left 3rd molar extracted too! The one removed was the lower right 3rd molar kasi eh.

Sooo now.. Where's the tooth fairy?? :)

Bakasyon Grande!

I mentioned in my previous post that we (Johann and I), had a 'biglaang vacation' in Cavite. Honestly, we had fun! The weather that week was unfortunately and kind of not nice to the other parts of the Philippines however, in Cavite, it was freakin' cold.. as in 'brrrrr.. cold'. We liked it!

Doble doble pa ang blanket ni Kulit.

See? Imagine how cold it was when we had a vacation there? It was 9am that time 'I think?' when I took that shot.

Anyway, it was a blessing that I decided to take a vacation for a while. I'm certainly sure that Johann enjoyed his stay there. So many kids running and playing around. They were Ninang's nephews and niece'. Johann is not really used to seeing so many kids around that's why he got fond of them playing with him.

Johann with the Peña kids.
Aside from these kids, Johann found a new friend through Ikay. She is my goddaughter's daughter. She's so adorable. She can count 1-10 na! As in she kept on reciting it over and over again! I am amazed that she can because Johann still can't. Well, he can, by saying it after I say it. He is 2yo, and she's only 1yo. (Iba talaga kapag maraming kasama sa bahay...lalo pag madaldal).

Johann and Ikay.
We went there ng Wednesday then we went home the following week, Wednesday din. Hubby missed us so much daw that he had to bribe 'yata' his sister and parents to accompany him in picking us up. Apurado masyado ze husband. He even wanted to pick us up ng Sunday but I don't want to go home that day and that early 'coz it was fiesta. We adjusted it to Wednesday. Hihi.

I am thankful because Johann learned few words while we were there. As for me, cyempre I had a peace of mind and was able to relax a bit.

I will surely miss Cavite and of course my ninang. We are very close you know.
