Early Bird!

Mabuti na ang late kay sa absent!! Yez! I am an early bird pa sa lagay na ito!

S & R Membership Shopping had their early bird sale that started last week pa. Some products marked down already as early as last week, as preparation to the yearly March Member's Treat. S&R's Member's Treat will start tomorrow, March 13, 2013 and it will be up to March 17, 2013.

Since I really don't have enough patience on the idea, that we'll be shopping on the sale day itself without having a run through on the stuff we need to buy, we went na kanina sa early bird sale nila. Ayoko kasi mamili talaga nang marami na marami na ding tao sobra. Knowing S&R, dinudumog talaga nang tao. So kanina, we bought na some items na priority namin bilhin that are already on sale. Baka mag part 2 nalang bukas! Hehe.

I'll be sharing the stuff we bought later after this post. Will take photos! :)

Mary Grace Cafe with Partner Iris

Natupad din ang wish ko! Nakakain din ako sa Mary Grace Cafe. You know kasi, I have been reading and seeing people posting photos or reviews about this cafe. Food looked yummy and the ambiance is sooo cozy. I have been asking my bestfriend, May, and hubby to go with me para makakain dito. All the time, fail. Imagine, ilang months ago ko pa gusto itry jan ha! Hehe.

Then early this week, my other best friend, Iris of Three Hand Star, told me that we can go out any time this month. Just tell her lang daw earlier so she can file for leave. So we set our date to Thursday, March 7.

So yesterday, no, it is 3AM na as I write this, and it is already Saturday, so 2 days ago, we met at SM Southmall. We met around 3pm na. Agad agad, we went to Mary Grace kasi gutom na kami pareho.
We chose to stay outside because I want to smoke. Yes! I do smoke. :)

So anyway, here's the entrance outside:

Outside Mary Grace Cafe.
I call Iris as "partner". It is like a term of endearment to each other. We came from an all girl school, St. Scholastica's College, Manila, so it's like a normal thing to us already. But we're not lesb or anything okay? Nothing against lesb, I have a lot of friends who are in that thing, I just want to clear lang that Iris and I are not. :)

Going back, the table outside was nice. Girly! Hehe. First, we ordered Mushroom Pate, Prawn Pasta with Mango Papaya Vinaigrette and Mushroom Cream Pasta. However, the waiter asked us if we're sure of our order. Kasi, mushroom na yung appetizer then mushroom pa yung pasta. He was kind enough to suggest a better option. Kesa nga naman maumay kami sa mushroom. Hehe. We didn't think of that.

I asked for their best seller. He suggested Cream Cheese & Artichoke Heart Dip and Onion Dip with Crispy Cassava Chips. Honestly, I was waiting for him to suggest Grilled Kesong Puti eh, nakakahiya naman, piliin namin yung hindi nya sinuggest. And may be, those two are really the customers' faves. So we went for the Onion Dip.

Since we are sharing for all the food that we ordered, the waiter told us, he can serve the salad and pasta separately na. Hahatiin na daw nila for us. Mas convenient nga naman. :)

Here's the photo of what we ordered:

Prawn Salad with Mango Papaya Vinaigrette.
Mushroom Cream Pasta
Onion Dip with Crispy Cassava Chips
They were all yummy. I'm an any food lover. So kahit ano, masarap! Wag lang atay! Haha! Cassava Chips were really crispy and it went well with the Onion Dip. The Prawn Salad was really flavorful. I'm not really a salad person but I liked it. Favorite ko kasi ang prawn siguro. Hehe. Lastly, the Mushroom Pasta was really creamy. Honestly though, it tastes like my Chicken Mushroom Pasta. Although mine doesn't have an essence of truffle. :D

I asked partner is she wants to order dessert. Parang ang sarap nung Mango Bene eh. I want that. And since partner told me na masarap yung Chocolate Cake nila, I wanted to try that too. So sabi ko, both nalang, if it's okay with her.

Hanee: Anong gusto mo? Gusto mo Brownie Ala Mode?
Iris: Hmmm.. Pwede kaso mas mahal cya!
Hanee: Hmmm.. (Namimili...)
Hanee: Parang ang sarap, Mango Bene nalang. Pero gusto ko din ng Chocolate Cake. Dalawa nalang.
Iris: Sige! Sige!
Hanee (Tingin kay Iris, while saying) : Okay lang ba? Dalawa nalang ha. Para "magtikiman tayo".

Iris and Hanee: (Tingin sa isa't isa sabay tawa ng malakas). Hahahahaha!!

Hanee: I will never ever say that to a friend ever again!! Hahaha.
Iris: Haha, ang pangit pakinggan.

Haha! Anyway, yes! We ordered both.

Chilled Mango Bene
Chocolate Cake
Both were a winner! Mango Bene is a sure hit for me. Mango balances to the sweetness of the whole cake. So saktong sakto lang, and malamig cya! Sarap! Chocolate Cake naman was sooo yummy. Soft chocolate chiffon plus caramel-y filling inside and chocolate-y outside. Nakakatakam ulit! :D

Took this pic. :D
From my ipad.
From partner's itouch.
I definitely recommend Mary Grace Cafe to you guys. Food's great! Tamang chill lang since the place is so cozy too. People who serve you in Mary Grace are so nice as well. Highly recommended.

Never ending ang chikahan. Good food + Good company + Chikahan = Good Vibes! Love it! We both decided to meet once in a while and try to explore other resto's in the South. :D Sama pala natin si Jane, para di magtampo. Hehe. Missed you partner! And missing you again! :)

Next stop, Shi Lin! :)

Potty Training

Yez! It is already midnight, and I am talking about potty training. Well, in my boy's age, he is suppose to be telling us, adults, already whether he is going to pee or poo. I am actually having a hard time in doing so because, everytime we talk to him about that, may be at the back of his mind, he thinks we are just joking or playing with him.

We always tell or ask Johann: "Baby, tell mama or papa if you're going to poopoo okay?" or "Are you going to weewee?" That's our scenario everyday. If we remove his diapers, maya maya, naghahabulan na kami 'coz Johann peed somewhere in the house, even pooped! He would tell us palagi, pero after he does something na. Lalapit yan sakin, "Mama, weewee." or "Mama, poopoo." Yun pala, tapos na! ehehe.

We didn't want to force him to do so kasi syempre, baka ma-pressure. Lalong hindi na magsabi. He would pee naman on the toilet every night before sleeping eh. Pero poo, hindi talaga.

However, earlier, before sleeping, he told me repeatedly, "Mama, poopoo baby." At first, I thought he was bluffing. He seldoms do that to us kasi. But, it seemed to me na parang seryoso ata tong baby ko. So I went with him sa cr and made alalay to him on the toilet bowl.

It took us around 10-15 minutes before he finally and successfully did it. Hehe. Yes, it was a success for me as a parent and also for him.

I just hope he continues telling us padin whether he is going to pee or poo. Baka one time big time lang ngayon eh. Hehe.

Mag-Ama Lunching Out

It is our "laba-day" today. Meaning, John and I have to do the laundry. John started while I cleaned the room, the sala and dining. Then my sis-in-law called. She's inviting us to have lunch with them. It's their tito's despedida lunch. Tito Mon is going back to the US and his flight, I think, is tonight.

I told John that I'll finish doing the laundry nalang and sila nalang ang sumama. I really wanted to go but we can't leave the laundry when it has already been started. It's okay lang pati sakin.

Here's the photo of my mag-ama.

I texted John, sabi ko pasalubong. I want JCo Donuts. And look what he bought. Hehe. Johann was excited to eat na when they arrived home. Eh ako din, excited? Haha! So a dozen minus 3. You do the math. Lol. :)

I have a new favorite flavor. Tiramisu and Avocado. Im'ma try other flavors next time.
Johann's a little tired so now, he's sleeping as I type this. Hehe.

Candy Crush Saga Addiction

I soooo blame my best friend for this addiction! Haha! May, my best friend, introduced me to this addicting game, Candy Crush Saga. I didn't know that I'd be hooked! I just wanted to try it at first pero wala na. I don't usually play games in the iPad. The game I usually play lang is Temple Run. Then this.

I don't know, I find it addicting may be because, it has only limited life, which is 5. You have to wait for another 30 minutes to gain another life, if you have accumulated a life from the 5 that you have. Every level has a different goal. You really have to reach that goal in order for you to advance to the next level. Medyo mahirap ang ibang level mga ateng! Hehe.

Candy Crush Saga
Currently in level 40. I have 5 full lives. The envelope is for your friends' gifts and requests.

To those who play this game, I have a tip for your lives in this game. Usually kasi, well, for some players, they would open agad the envelope and click ok or send for their friends' asking or giving lives or tickets. I suggest, you open or accept those lives and tickets once you accumulate all your lives. Kasi if na accept mo na, then full ka pa, sayang kasi hindi cya nagiging 6.

We Have A Cute Visitor!

Look who came and visited us!

Well, he is my hubby's nephew, so basically, Johann's cousin. We seldom talk about borrowing him from his ate so that Johann will have a playmate. You know kasi, tamad ako lumabas ng bahay. Haha. Literal na stay-at-home mom ang peg. But anyway, even though they only live a few blocks from us, tamad na tamad ako lagi. So, last time, John borrowed (borrowed talaga? gamit lang?) Kiean and brought him home.

Kiean, kasyang kasya sa cabinet! Hehe.
Cousins inside the cabinet. Hehe
At home na at home ang bagets! :)

Aren't they cute?

Home Improvement 1

Hello!

I just want to make kwento to you guys about my son Johann. I have said it before in one of my previous post that Johann is a hand full. But it is okay. Lalaki kasi, napaka-likot. He usually plays with anything shiny or colorful. I am trying my best not to make him sanay with that habit. Pero minsan, di talaga masuway. He usually picks the stuff on the dresser. Either cologne, perfume bottles, etc. Tatakot kami na baka mabasag and ma-tibo (mapasukan ng bubog yung paa) si Johann. Plus most perfume we have are expensive. Wala kaming pera pambili ulit. Haha!

I was cleaning the other day, and took a picture of the dresser. Well, we have the antique dresser with heart mirror. Medyo open talaga sya so easy access for my baby. As you can see also, medyo madami dami rin ang pwede nyang maabot or makuha jan. Just don't mind the messiness of the dresser. I was cleaning eh. Pinunasan ko sila isa isa.. Hehe.

Sorry for the kalat. Hehe.
The day after I cleaned the dresser, I tried checking for ideas online, that I can apply so that it won't be so makalat anymore and for Johann not to reach those stuff you saw above. I remembered that before, when we bought something in Ace Hardware, I saw this aisle where they have laminated wood planks. So, I checked the website. There were limited planks in their website eh, no prices too. I decided to call them nalang. The person who answered gave the phone to a guy who is assigned in that aisle. He was very helpful. He even provided me with better ideas and not to mention prices of each. Take note: sa phone lang yun ha. I asked his name and told him we'd drop by later that afternoon.

John and Johann accompanied me in going to Ace Hardware. I looked for the guy I talked to. He assisted us with all our needs. He was very informative too with the products we were looking for. From the plank, to the light bulb, to the telephone shower, to mirror brackets etc. I wonder if all the people in Ace Hardware are that helpful. May be because the last time I was there, I was assisted properly din naman. I am very thankful for that guy in AH.

We installed the plank the following day. And look who helped us do so. We have a little handy helper at home. He even used his toy hammer. Hehe.

My little handy helper and my Handy Manny (Johnny) . Haha.
First try.
I finished installing the plank. John had to go to work na kasi. I can also be a carpenter you know. I placed hooks under the plank for the clothes and for my necklaces. I bought hooks that can be hammered on a concrete wall. I am so amazed 'coz it can hold up to 15kg. I was initially planning to buy hooks that can be placed on the wall using adhesive. It is not reliable pala for clothes. Good thing this guy from AH suggested we use the hooks for concrete. And viola!

Actual stuff we placed on the plank. Plus the hooks under the plank.

I was actually teasing Johann: "Haha, you can't reach them anymore, baby." Johann keeps on smiling lang, while trying to reach the top. Then after a while he said "Mama, di abot baby." Hehe..

Pero wag kayo! Kanina lang, I saw him dragging his chair, trying to reach the powder puff. Haha! Persistent! :)

Q: Any home improvements you know? Wanna share? :)
